Polish authorities have arrested eight individuals suspected of preparing sabotage acts targeting military and critical infrastructure across the country, Prime Minister Donald Tusk confirmed on Tuesday.
According to Tusk, the arrests were carried out by the ABW (Internal Security Agency) in cooperation with other services. Further operational actions are ongoing, though specific details were not disclosed.
Officials suggest the plot is linked to hybrid warfare tactics, including arson and cyberattacks, previously used by Russia to destabilize countries supporting Ukraine. Russia has denied involvement in these activities.
Tomasz Siemoniak, Poland’s minister responsible for special services, stated that the suspects were involved in identifying military facilities, preparing sabotage devices, and planning direct attacks.
Authorities emphasize that these arrests are part of ongoing efforts to protect national security and prevent attacks on critical infrastructure.
