Two individuals were detained by the Shtërpcë police for illegal logging, as part of the operational plan “Forest Protection 2025,” reports Gazeta Sinjali.
The operation was carried out to safeguard the forests and natural resources of the Sharri Mountains National Park.
On August 23, 2025, around 22:40, on the road connecting the villages of Drajkovc – Kashtanjevë in Shtërpcë, police stopped two Fiat vehicles driven by B.Z. and L.H., who were transporting wood without the proper documentation.
In coordination with the authorities of Sharri National Park, the seized wood and vehicles were confiscated, and the case is being processed for further legal action by the competent authorities.
