The Kosovo Police announced today that the Vidovdan celebrations, held across various parts of the country on June 28, were successfully managed and concluded without major incidents.
According to the official police statement, timely operational and organizational measures were undertaken, including maintaining public order, directing traffic, and controlling border crossing points. Coordinated and professional actions across all police regions ensured the smooth conduct of the events.
However, there were a few isolated cases where police escorted 17 individuals to police stations for questioning. These individuals are suspected of provoking the crowd through inciting language and wearing provocative clothing, in violation of existing laws.
Of those escorted:
- One person was detained on suspicion of unauthorized possession of a weapon.
- One person received a minor offense citation.
- Four individuals were released.
- Eleven others remain under investigation.
All actions were undertaken in full cooperation with judicial authorities.
The Kosovo Police expressed gratitude to citizens for their cooperation and understanding during the events, reaffirming their commitment to guaranteeing order, law, and public safety for all citizens, without distinction.
