Police Officer Injured While Extinguishing Field Fire in Kamenica

A field fire in the village of Gregjenik, Kamenica municipality, has resulted in the injury of a Kosovo Police officer and posed a threat to the surrounding area.

The incident occurred on Saturday at around 13:17, when police units and firefighters responded to a blaze that had engulfed a section of open field.

During the operation to extinguish the flames, a police officer sustained bodily injuries.

According to the Kosovo Police, local firefighting units were able to contain and neutralize the fire, successfully preventing its further spread.

The injured officer received initial medical attention on site before being transferred to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) in Pristina for further treatment.

Authorities have classified the case as “Causing General Danger – Fire”, and the incident is currently under investigation.
