Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla, has called on the suspect responsible for the murder of police officer Muhamed Lika in Kaçanik to surrender immediately. Sveçla emphasized that the entire state apparatus is mobilized to find and arrest those involved.
The tragic incident occurred on April 1, around 23:00, when officer Lika was shot near his residence on “Idriz Seferi” street. Despite emergency medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries at the local medical center in Kaçanik.
Police spokesperson Kanun Veseli confirmed that an intensive investigation is underway, but the motives behind the crime remain unclear. Sveçla honored Lika’s service in both Kosovo’s liberation and security forces, expressing deep condolences to his family and fellow officers.
Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement by providing any information that could help in the capture of the suspect.
