Police: Two Protests in the North Held Early This Morning, Ended Peacefully

The Kosovo Police has issued a statement announcing that two protests were held in the morning at different locations in North Mitrovica.

According to the Police, these protests were not previously announced, but they were involved in managing the events.

The Police inform that around 08:45, the protests ended peacefully and the demonstrators dispersed.

The Kosovo Police, based on information received that protests would be held at two locations in North Mitrovica today (02.09.2024) in the early morning, took the necessary measures in advance to ensure security and maintain public order and peace before, during, and after the protests.

Although the protests were not announced in advance, the Kosovo Police, in accordance with the Public Assembly Law, recognizes the right of citizens to express themselves freely through peaceful assemblies and protests. As part of their official duty, they are committed to providing security for all citizens, including protesters, to ensure that the protests proceed peacefully and without incidents.

Around 08:45, the protests ended peacefully and the protesters dispersed, while police units continued with their regular duties.
