The Regional Police Directorate in North of Mitrovica, in cooperation with municipal inspectors and other responsible institutions, has reminded all owners and managers of business premises (cafés, restaurants, bars, etc.) of their obligation to comply with the legally prescribed hours for music use, as stipulated in the Law on Public Order and Quietness and the applicable subordinate acts.
According to a Facebook post by the police, music and any other noise-producing activities are not allowed to disturb public order and quiet outside of the legally defined hours.
“Any violation of these provisions will be treated as an offense and prosecuted according to legal procedures,” the announcement stated.
It was further noted that “anyone causing unnecessary and unbearable noise audible to nearby residents or on the streets that disturbs others between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM on weekdays, and from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM on Saturdays and Sundays, will be fined for an offense.”
The police emphasized that the aim of this measure is to preserve order, quiet, and public safety, urging all businesses to cooperate in ensuring a peaceful and safe environment for all citizens without exception.
