Poland’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Radoslaw Sikorski, issued a sharp rebuke following a heavy Russian drone strike on Kyiv that caused significant damage, including to the Polish consulate, Rks News reports.
In a post on platform X, Sikorski directly addressed U.S. President Donald Trump, urging him to take concrete action in response to the attack.
“Putin is mocking your peace efforts,” Sikorski wrote. “Please restore air defense ammunition supplies to Ukraine and impose new, harsh sanctions on the aggressor.”
According to Ukrainian authorities, the Russian drone assault lasted more than eight hours and struck multiple areas of the capital, injuring at least 14 people. Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, stated that 12 of the injured were hospitalized.
Substantial damage was reported in six of Kyiv’s ten districts, including rail infrastructure and public buildings. In the Holosiivskyi district, drone debris ignited a fire at a medical facility, while multiple vehicles were destroyed in explosions.
The strike comes amid escalating tensions between Russia and the West, with growing calls for increased military and political support for Ukraine.
