For three months now, Kosovo has been without a functioning Assembly and Government. The ruling and opposition parties continue to clash, as for the 13th time in a row, they have failed to elect the Speaker of the Assembly.
Today, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, expressed her readiness to invite the leaders of political parties to a joint meeting.
This was confirmed by Bekim Kupina, Media Advisor, for Indeksonline.
“The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has already expressed her full readiness, since April 16, to receive the leaders of political parties if they deem such a meeting necessary. Until yesterday, we had not received such a request. Now that some parties have requested the President to convene a joint meeting of the leaders, the President’s Cabinet will soon contact the political parties to determine a suitable time for everyone, for such an inclusive meeting,” Kupina said.
It remains to be seen when the joint meeting between Osmani and the political leaders will take place—and whether the leaders will attend.
