The President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, met with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves. The meeting focused on the latest political developments in the country, particularly the urgent need to form institutions following the February 9 elections.
President Osmani and Ambassador Hargreaves reaffirmed their mutual commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and deepening cooperation in areas of shared interest such as the economy and defense, as agreed during the recent visit of UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy to Kosovo.
A significant part of the meeting was dedicated to the Berlin Process, which this time will be organized by the United Kingdom. President Osmani emphasized the importance of prioritizing the issue of missing persons in the agenda of this process, as a moral and legal obligation that cannot be overlooked for lasting peace in the region.
The importance of further cooperation under the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda was also highlighted, exploring opportunities for a more active role for the UK in supporting the role of women in peace processes and decision-making.
President Osmani expressed gratitude for the continued support of the United Kingdom for Kosovo, as well as for its contribution to advancing democratic processes and Kosovo’s integration into international organizations.
