Over 20,000 people have been evacuated from the Canadian provinces of Alberta, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan due to massive wildfires affecting the region. According to authorities, the situation is most severe in Manitoba, where over 17,000 residents have been ordered to leave, reports Rks News.
Among the evacuees are all 6,000 residents of the city of Flin Flon and surrounding areas, while more than 5,000 others have relocated from Alberta and Saskatchewan. To assist with the evacuation process, authorities have deployed helicopters transporting residents to major cities such as Winnipeg and Saskatoon.
Despite the large scale of the fires, no casualties or significant material damages have been reported so far. Emergency teams are on the ground working tirelessly to control the spread of the flames and ensure the safety of residents.
