Pre-Election Campaign: A Parliamentary Delegation from the Council of Europe Visits Kosovo

A three-member delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Petra Bayr (Austria), will visit Kosovo on January 16-17 to assess the electoral and political campaign as well as the climate leading up to the parliamentary elections in Kosovo on February 9.

In Pristina, the delegation will meet with the President of Kosovo, the Prime Minister, and the Speaker of the Assembly, as well as the leaders and representatives of the main political groups in the Assembly.

“Meetings are also planned with the Kosovo Assembly delegation to PACE, the Chair and members of the Central Election Commission, the head of the EU Election Observation Mission, members of the international community, as well as representatives of the diplomatic community, civil society, and the media.

“The delegation is expected to issue a statement at the end of the visit. A full 20-member delegation will travel to Kosovo to observe the February 9 elections,” reads the statement from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). /rtk
