Kosovo’s opposition parties are expected to attend a meeting called by former Speaker of the Assembly, Glauk Konjufca, to discuss preparations for the constitutive session of the ninth legislature.

Representatives of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK), the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK), and the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) have confirmed their participation in the meeting scheduled for Tuesday.

PDK Secretary Vlora Çitaku stated that the party has not yet decided who will represent them at the meeting. Meanwhile, LDK MP Ekrem Hyseni emphasized that the invitation is institutional and foreseen by the Assembly’s Rules of Procedure, clarifying that it is not a political initiative by Vetëvendosje (LVV).

“The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the agenda, seating arrangements in the Assembly hall, and the organization of the first session,” Hyseni explained.

AAK MP Bekë Berisha also confirmed his party’s participation, stressing that it is the obligation of all political parties to engage in the necessary consultations for the preparation of the constitutive session.

Tuesday’s meeting is expected to mark the first step toward the formation of new institutions following the recent parliamentary elections.
