The Albanian National Council (KKSH) in Bujanoc has raised concerns about ongoing discrimination faced by Albanians in the Presheva Valley when it comes to employment in state institutions.
According to the KKSH, despite the fact that Albanians make up the majority population in the municipality of Bujanoc, they remain underrepresented in public sector jobs, including in administrative bodies, police structures, and other state agencies.
The Council emphasized that this lack of representation violates both Serbia’s legal framework and international standards on minority rights, calling on the government to take concrete measures to ensure equal access to employment for Albanians in the region.
The statement further recalled that the Agreement of Končul, signed in 2001, guarantees the integration of Albanians into state institutions — a promise that, according to KKSH, remains largely unfulfilled more than two decades later.
