Albanian President Bajram Begaj has concluded his visit to the Presheva Valley, where he met with Albanian political representatives and reaffirmed Albania’s support for the Albanian community living in the region.

During his visit, Begaj held meetings with the Mayor of Presheva Ardita Sinani, the Mayor of Bujanovc, Arbër Pajaziti, Albanian MP in the Serbian Parliament Shaip Kamberi, and the President of the Albanian National Council, Enkel Rexhepi.

Begaj said the discussions focused on the concerns of Albanians in the Presheva Valley, strengthening cooperation among Albanian political representatives, and projects aimed at supporting young people in the region.

In a statement following the meetings, Begaj called on Albanian political leaders to remain united whenever national interests and the rights of Albanians are at stake.

“I encouraged the political leaders of this region to unite whenever it comes to the national interest and the protection of the rights of Albanians in the Presheva Valley.”

As President of Albania, Begaj also reaffirmed his country’s support for addressing the issues affecting the Albanian community, including fair representation in public institutions, concerns over the passivation of residential addresses, and the right to use the Albanian language and national symbols.
