Albanian President Bajram Begaj has called on his Moldovan counterpart, Maia Sandu, to reconsider Moldova’s recognition of the state of Kosovo.
Begaj made this request during his official visit to Moldova.
“Together, as partners and friends, we are working for a stronger and safer Europe, and we also encourage the reconsideration of the recognition of Kosovo,” Begaj wrote following his meeting with the Moldovan president.
The Albanian head of state said that he held fruitful discussions with President Sandu, emphasizing that mutual trust, sustained political dialogue, and constructive cooperation—serving the common interest and the well-being of citizens—form the foundation of relations between the two countries.
“In today’s challenging security environment, the enlargement of the European Union remains a key factor for stability and peace. We fully support Moldova’s European path,” Begaj added.
