President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani-Sadriu addressed the media regarding the case of the arrest of cameraman Jetmir Muji, who was filming near the school attended by her daughters.

Osmani stressed that her daughters are at high risk, as assessed every six months by security institutions.

“There are many types of threats. For example, one case involved a threat from Serbs posted on Twitter with a photo of me and my daughters with the caption ‘You will die soon’,” Osmani declared.

She emphasized that she is one of the presidents who has received the highest number of threats, yet no one has been arrested and justice institutions have done nothing.

Regarding the journalist, Osmani clarified:
“The cameraman was not arrested by my security detail. This is a lie. You know I have never allowed my security to obstruct your questions.”

She added:
“Attack me day and night, never stop, but do not reach the point where small children, who have no fault, are endangered.”

Meanwhile, Prosecutor Rrahim Podvorica explained that he ordered Muji’s release, stating that no criminal offense was found since the filming took place in a public space. However, he noted that if minors were filmed and those images published, it could endanger their privacy and safety.

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate has opened an investigation into the case.

Osmani’s husband, Prindon Sadriu, also reacted strongly, condemning what he called “hate-driven narratives” and accusing certain media outlets of inciting violence:

“Posts filled with slander and fear are not news or opinions — they are instructions and incitement for violence, even against small children.”

On the other hand, the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK) criticized Osmani’s stance, calling it an unacceptable attack against journalists.

“The President’s daughters are public figures. Reporting on their education, whether in public or private schools, is in the public interest and not persecution. The language used by President Osmani towards journalists and media is dangerous and unacceptable,” AGK said in a statement.
