Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, today commemorated the Rahovec Epopee, bowing with reverence before the sacrifice of the KLA martyrs and all victims. Between July 17 and 26, 1998, forces of Serbia’s genocidal regime killed and executed around 100 women, children, and elderly people in Rahovec and its surroundings, most of whom had sought refuge in the Teqe of Sheh Myhedini.

The head of state stated that Rahovec represents a wound, pain, and a memory that inspires the ongoing battle for justice.

“The memory of the victims is eternal, as our voice for justice will never cease until it prevails. May the memory of the KLA martyrs and the martyrs of freedom be eternal,” she said.
