The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has extended condolences to the leaders and people of Portugal following Wednesday’s tragic incident in Lisbon, where a tram derailed, leaving at least 17 people dead.
In a post on X, Osmani expressed Kosovo’s solidarity with the Portuguese people:
“We express solidarity with President Marcelo Nuno Duarte Rebelo de Sousa, Prime Minister Luís Montenegro, and the people of Portugal, following the tragic accident involving the Gloria tram in Lisbon. On behalf of the people of the Republic of Kosovo, I extend my deepest condolences to the families of the victims and wish a swift recovery to the injured. We stand with our Portuguese friends,” Osmani wrote.
The tragic accident also left more than 20 others injured, several of them in critical condition.
