Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić felt uncomfortable during the speech by President Vjosa Osmani at the Southeast Europe Summit in Dubrovnik.
According to our sources, President Osmani addressed the attendees while directly facing Vučić, discussing the crimes committed by Slobodan Milošević against the Albanians of Kosovo.
“Many of us around this table remember how, in the early 1990s, despite the wars waged against Croatia and Slovenia, Milošević was still called a ‘peacemaker’ or ‘the man without whom peace was impossible,'” Osmani reportedly stated at the Summit.
She further emphasized to regional leaders that it was precisely this conciliatory approach towards the aggressor that led to even more horrific wars, first in Bosnia and Herzegovina and later in Kosovo.
“In the end, appeasing an autocrat was paid for with the blood of over one hundred thousand innocent civilians,” she declared exclusively to klankosova.tv.
“Yet, even 25 years after peace in the Balkans, achieved through NATO intervention, we see dark forces from the past seeking to follow the Russian models of annexation, propaganda, disinformation, and destabilization.”
“It has never been simpler, because ultimately, by fighting for a free Ukraine, we are also fighting for our own peace and freedom. We are fighting for a free Europe,” President Osmani is reported to have said. She reaffirmed Kosovo’s commitment to align with NATO in sanctioning Russia, which, according to the media, caused tension in Vučić’s mood.
President Osmani also confirmed Kosovo’s support for Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, highlighting that Kosovo’s painful history compels them to extend a hand of help.
