President Vjosa Osmani, who began a new series of meetings with political parties yesterday in an effort to resolve the parliamentary deadlock, is expected to continue these meetings today.
Faton Peci, co-leader of Guxo, confirmed yesterday that he received an invitation to meet with President Osmani, starting at 9:00 AM. Bosnian MP Duda Balje also confirmed receiving an invitation for a meeting on Thursday.
Previous Meetings and Call for Consensus
On Wednesday, Osmani hosted Albin Kurti, head of Vetëvendosje; Memli Krasniqi, leader of the Democratic Party of Kosovo; Lumir Abdixhiku, leader of the Democratic League of Kosovo; and Ramush Haradinaj, leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo. These meetings aimed to help find a solution to the ongoing institutional crisis.
During these discussions, Osmani urged the leaders to reach a consensus on the Assembly’s constitution “as soon as possible,” or within the 30-day deadline set by the Constitutional Court, the Presidency stated in a communiqué after the meetings.
