Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, today held a farewell meeting with Arnhild Spence, the United Nations Development Coordinator in Kosovo (UNKT), as her mandate concludes.
Recognizing UN’s Contribution and Future Engagements
According to an announcement from the Presidency, President Osmani expressed gratitude for the valuable contributions of UNKT and other UN agencies in Kosovo. She highlighted their work, particularly in areas such as gender equality, transitional justice, human rights, and the Women, Peace, and Security Agenda.
“The importance of women’s participation in local elections and their engagement in public and political life was also discussed,” the statement noted.
During the meeting, discussions also touched upon the functionalization of the Presidential Commission for Transitional Justice and the expected steps in this regard.
At the close of the meeting, President Osmani thanked Ms. Spence for her successful cooperation throughout her mandate and wished her success in her future endeavors.
