President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani met today with Admiral George M. Wikoff, the new Commander of NATO’s Allied Joint Forces Command in Naples, on the occasion of his assumption of one of NATO’s most strategically important commands.

In a statement, President Osmani congratulated Admiral Wikoff on his new role and wished him success in leading the command, expressing full confidence in his leadership and in the crucial role the command plays in Euro-Atlantic security, regional stability, and international peace.

During the meeting, President Osmani reiterated Kosovo’s gratitude to NATO and the United States for their decisive and irreplaceable role in ensuring peace, security, and stability in Kosovo since 1999. She highlighted the KFOR mission as a reliable preventive and security-guaranteeing force for all citizens of Kosovo, without distinction.

Furthermore, President Osmani addressed security risks originating from Serbia. She stressed Kosovo’s commitment to continued cooperation with KFOR and emphasized that Kosovo remains a trustworthy, capable, and contributing partner for regional security and stability, strongly committed to the values of peace, democracy, and the rule of law.

In this context, she specifically highlighted threats from Serbia, including acts of destabilization and lack of accountability for incidents such as the attack on KFOR troops, the terrorist attack in Banjskë, and the kinetic attack on the Ibar-Lepenec canal.

Kosovo’s leadership reaffirmed its dedication to maintaining strong alliances with NATO and supporting initiatives that safeguard regional security and protect its citizens.
