President Vjosa Osmani met today with Major General Stephen Osborn, Commander of the Iowa National Guard, with whom she discussed the close cooperation between the Kosovo Security Force (KSF) and the Iowa National Guard.

The meeting also focused on future plans to further deepen this strategic partnership.

“The alliance with the United States in the field of defense strengthens the state and the sovereignty of the Republic of Kosovo,” emphasized President Osmani.

Furthermore, President Osmani expressed her deep gratitude and high appreciation for the continuous support that the Iowa Guard has provided to the KSF in developing and advancing its operational capacities, which were successfully demonstrated during the joint international exercise “Defender Europe 2025.”

She highlighted the fact that this year, within the framework of the exercise, Kosovo had the honor of hosting the Tactical Command of the 28th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army, and that members of the Iowa National Guard were an active part of the joint force operating on the territory of Kosovo.

During the meeting, President Osmani also extended sincere thanks and deep appreciation for the opportunity given to a KSF contingent to conduct joint training at the Joint Readiness Training Center in Louisiana, alongside members of the Iowa Guard and other U.S. allied forces.
