Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani has expressed support for the upcoming civic march titled “Justice, Not Politics,” scheduled to take place on February 17 in Prishtina, according to representatives of the civil platform “Liria ka Emër.”
Representatives of the platform — Eliza Hoxha, Ismail Tasholli, and Ridvan Emini — confirmed that they met with President Osmani to discuss preparations and objectives for the event, which is expected to coincide with Kosovo’s Independence Day celebrations.
During the meeting, participants emphasized the importance of safeguarding the principles of impartial justice, preserving the values of the liberation war, and strengthening both institutional and societal responsibility in maintaining historical memory among younger generations.
President Osmani reiterated her endorsement of the initiative, highlighting the significance of protecting national values.
“I support this civic initiative. National values and those of the fight for freedom must be protected and passed on to younger generations as part of our collective pride,” Osmani stated.
Eliza Hoxha noted that the growing institutional and public support for the march reflects its inclusive civic character, describing the event as a call to uphold justice and protect historical dignity.
“This march is a call for respect for impartial justice and the preservation of our historical dignity. When institutions and citizens speak with one voice for justice, the message becomes stronger,” Hoxha said.
Meanwhile, Ismail Tasholli stressed the symbolic importance of February 17, stating that the date unites citizens around the fundamental values of the state.
“We believe justice must remain separate from politics and serve the truth. On February 17, citizens will send a clear message of unity, dignity, and respect for the sacrifices made for freedom,” Tasholli added.
The “Liria ka Emër” platform thanked President Osmani for her support and invited citizens to join the march in Prishtina under the slogan “Justice, Not Politics.”
