President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani participated in the high-level summit of Southeast European leaders held in Tirana, where she was welcomed by her Albanian counterpart, President Bajram Begaj.
During her address at the summit, President Osmani emphasized that European Union enlargement is not an act of charity, but rather a strategic investment in the security, stability, and future of Europe itself.
“EU enlargement is not a charitable process, but a strategic investment in Europe’s own security, stability, and future. Therefore, it is time for the EU to move forward with concrete and deserved decisions for Kosovo — including lifting unjust measures and granting candidate status for our country,” she stated.
President Osmani also called for an end to punitive measures that, in her words, directly harm the people of Kosovo and do not serve peace, dialogue, or the country’s European future.
“Kosovo’s orientation is clear and unwavering: toward the EU and NATO — as a natural part of the Euro-Atlantic family,” she concluded.
