Washington D.C., July 9, 2025 — Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani has confirmed recent remarks by U.S. President Donald Trump, stating that he played a key role in preventing a potential armed escalation in Kosovo.

“President Trump recently prevented a possible escalation,” Osmani said during a panel discussion at Johns Hopkins University in Washington.

She emphasized that the situation in question was not from past years, but rather “very recent developments.”

“We’re not talking about 2023 or 2020. We’re referring to very recent events. But KFOR remains present, and we’re doing extraordinary work in terms of prevention and defense,” Osmani added.

The statement follows Trump’s public claim that his administration had intervened to stop a brewing conflict in the Balkans, though no specific details have yet been made public. Osmani’s confirmation underscores the importance of continued U.S. engagement in maintaining stability in the region.
