U.S. President Donald Trump has signed the GENIUS Act into law, marking a significant step in bolstering the United States’ position in the cryptocurrency finance and technology sectors.
In a statement to the media, President Trump hailed the act as an “extraordinary achievement” and thanked all who contributed to its development. “This is a tremendous act… we worked very hard,” he said.
The President emphasized the law’s importance for U.S. global dominance in finance and cryptocurrencies. “The legislation takes a gigantic step to cement American dominance of global finance and cryptocurrency technology,” Trump added.
He also acknowledged the challenges faced by the cryptocurrency community, noting that it had often been a target of ridicule and disdain. “The entire crypto community, for years, was mocked, scorned, and excluded,” he stated. “This signing is a massive validation of your hard work and pioneering spirit.”
