President Vjosa Osmani today paid tribute with honor and respect to Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi, Kosovo’s first Minister of Defense, on the 27th anniversary of his assassination.
In her message, Osmani described Krasniqi as a symbol of courage, sacrifice, and vision for a free Kosovo.
The President emphasized that although Colonel Krasniqi was treacherously killed, he remains a key figure in the history of Kosovo’s war and state-building. His murder was a despicable act intended to halt the struggle for freedom, but the dream of a free Kosovo was never extinguished.
“His legacy lives on in every step of our state-building, while uncovering the truth about his murder remains both a moral and institutional obligation,” President Osmani stated, adding that the memory of Colonel Ahmet Krasniqi must be eternal.
This commemoration comes at a time when the country continues to work toward strengthening its institutions and safeguarding the values of freedom and independence, to which Colonel Krasniqi dedicated his life.
