President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has responded to the arrest of cameraman Jetmir Muji, who, according to the Association of Journalists of Kosovo (AGK), was filming a report about the schooling of the President’s daughters.

Osmani described the incident as a “continuous, illegal, and dangerous harassment” targeting her minor children by certain media outlets. She emphasized that minor children are not public figures, and unauthorized recordings in private settings pose risks of attacks, threats, or potential kidnapping, revealing their routines and locations despite police warnings about safety violations.

“I will take all legal measures to protect my children from these so-called journalists, who do not aim to inform the public but endanger the lives of innocent children. Unauthorized recordings, often amounting to harassment, create not only physical but also psychological risks with long-term consequences for the children,” Osmani stated.

The President also clarified that her daughters continue their education at Ismail Qemali Public School in Prishtina and explained the recent school change:

“The change of school location was due to high security risks and because of our residential relocation. The Ismail Qemali school is now much farther from our home,” she noted.

The AGK expressed deep concern over the arrest, calling on the Kosovo Police to release Muji immediately. According to AGK, Muji was filming a report about the President’s daughters when he was stopped by her security team, had his camera confiscated, and was asked to delete the material.
