Prime Minister Kurti Meets UK Special Envoy Karen Pierce, Discusses Strengthening Kosovo–UK Ties

Prishtina, July 15 —
Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti held a working dinner with the United Kingdom’s Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, Baroness Karen Pierce, at the British Embassy residence in Prishtina. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between Kosovo and the United Kingdom.

According to an official statement, the two officials discussed “opportunities for expanding cooperation across a range of sectors from the creative industries and diplomacy to defense and security.”

A key topic of the discussion was the upcoming Berlin Process Summit, scheduled to take place in London this October. Prime Minister Kurti underlined the importance of fully implementing existing agreements and emphasized the need for mutual diploma recognition and freedom of movement, calling them vital components for the success of the Common Regional Market and the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

Prime Minister Kurti also expressed deep appreciation for the United Kingdom’s steadfast and ongoing support for the Republic of Kosovo, especially in the fields of security, development, and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The meeting highlights the UK’s continuing engagement in the Western Balkans and reaffirms its strategic partnership with Kosovo amid growing regional and geopolitical challenges.
