The Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama, has come under heavy criticism from citizens after a Facebook post in which he claimed to be praised by an alleged “prestigious” international outlet.
In his statement, Rama cited the Washington Reporter, portraying it as a major international source that recognized his work during his mayoral mandate. However, a simple fact-check revealed that the outlet is linked to Jacob Wohl, a controversial figure in the United States previously convicted of fraud and widely described as a far-right extremist and conspiracy theorist.
The revelation triggered an outpouring of backlash from citizens, who filled Rama’s post with harsh criticism and direct accusations.
Many described him as a “Thief of London”, “Big Liar”, and even “Fraudster”, expressing frustration over his four-year governance of the capital.
“Ajt more, the thief of London, you destroyed Prishtina in just four years, no one can fix it now,” wrote one user.
“You can’t be both a mayor and a liar – you were a mayor, but now you’re left only as a liar,” another citizen commented.
The controversy has further damaged Rama’s already embattled image, raising new questions about credibility, transparency, and accountability in local leadership.
