The Municipality of Prishtina has signed public contracts worth over €3.1 million for the implementation of the project “Energy Efficiency in Public Buildings in Prishtina”, aiming to improve infrastructure conditions and reduce energy consumption in the capital’s public institutions.
The contract is divided into two lots, awarded to three companies that must complete the project within three years.
For Lot 1, the company ICE was awarded a contract worth €1,684,000, while for Lot 2, the consortium of economic operators Kameleoni and Infinit Light was awarded €1,505,000.
According to the tender documentation, the winning companies are obliged to implement several technical measures to improve energy efficiency, including:
- Thermal insulation of exterior walls and roofs with a 12 cm insulating layer, expected to reduce energy loss by 30–40%.
- Replacement of old windows with new double- or triple-glazed units, cutting energy loss by 20–25%.
- Replacement of entrance doors with reinforced PVC structures with improved insulation.
- Installation of new heating systems, using more efficient equipment such as heat pumps or renewable energy-based systems, potentially reducing heating energy consumption by 40–50%.
- Lighting upgrades, replacing all existing lamps with LED technology to lower electricity usage.
This investment is considered a significant step toward modernizing public buildings and promoting sustainable environmental practices in Prishtina.
