Prishtina court orders one-month detention for seven officials suspected of corruption

Seven senior officials suspected of involvement in corruption were arrested two days ago in a major anti-corruption operation conducted by the Special Prosecution and the Kosovo Intelligence Agency (AKI).

Among the suspects are a judge of the Graçanicë Court, identified by the initials J.M., lawyers N.K., M.D., and B.D., a court expert Sh.T., an official from the Department of Expropriations, a Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK) official G.L., as well as a former Minister of Trade and Industry, identified by the initials F.I.

In connection with the same case, yesterday the Basic Court in Prishtina, Special Department, ruled on the request of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo for the imposition of detention measures in the criminal cases.

The court ordered one month of pre-trial detention for the suspects.
