After the announcement that public transport in the capital will be suspended, several private urban bus lines in Prishtina have now declared that they will also halt operations beginning Monday.
The companies “23 Yjet” and line 7B are among those confirming the interruption, citing non-payment from the Municipality of Prishtina since May for the services they provide.
“23 Yjet”: Unpaid Since May, Forced to Stop Operations
In their announcement, “23 Yjet” stated:
“Since 1 January 2025, we have operated under a contract with the Municipality of Prishtina. According to this contract, we should be paid regularly. However, since May 2025 we have not received payment for our services, which has severely hindered our ability to operate our routes.
We have held continuous meetings with municipal officials to avoid reaching this situation. We have covered expenses as much as possible, but as of tomorrow, 24 November 2025, we are forced to suspend all operations on lines 10, 10A, 10B, 10C, and 20.”
Line 7B: “Delays Have Made Normal Operations Impossible”
Avdyl Brajshori, director of line 7B, described serious financial difficulties that now threaten the line’s ability to continue providing services to citizens.
He said that despite maintaining stable performance until now, the months-long delay in payments has affected suppliers, partners, and internal technical processes, creating conditions that make regular operations impossible.
“Prishtina Shpk remains committed to serving citizens as soon as our financial obligations are met. We appeal for an immediate resolution to the municipal payment blockade so service can return to normal as quickly as possible,” Brajshori said.
