Private transport operators are protesting today in front of the Municipality of Prishtina, after deciding to suspend all bus lines within the city due to unpaid obligations by the local government.

According to the operators, the Municipality has failed to make the required payments, pushing them into a financial situation where continuing operations is no longer sustainable.

The protest is expected to expand further as workers from the Urban Traffic enterprise (“Trafiku Urban”) — which has also suspended its services — are set to join the demonstration.

The situation has created major disruptions for thousands of residents, who rely on public and private bus lines for daily transportation, raising concerns about the city’s ability to manage essential services.
