Petrit Kryeziu, Chief Prosecutor of the Basic Prosecution, announced that recent investigations have revealed large-scale electoral manipulations in Prizren, affecting over 40,497 added votes and 27,520 removed votes, highlighting a deliberate effort to influence the final outcome, reports Gazeta Sinjali.

Four prosecutors from the Department of Serious Crimes have issued detention orders and carried out actions at police stations to uncover the scheme.

“A few days ago we warned that vote manipulation is a crime and will be punished without compromise. Today, anyone who dared interfere with votes and citizens’ will has faced the full force of the law. These manipulations involved four of the largest political parties, which deployed their preferred candidates thinking they could act outside the law. Today, the four prosecutors from the Department of Serious Crimes issued 109 detention orders after conducting procedures across police stations,” Kryeziu said.

He added that the violations include electoral result falsification, intimidation and threats, and bribery, affecting the Prizren municipality:

  • Votes added: 40,497
  • Votes removed: 27,520
  • Total votes manipulated: 68,017

“This was a deliberate and organized effort to overturn the election results,” Kryeziu stressed.
