Professor Oliver Tošković from the Faculty of Philosophy has warned that due to the Serbian authorities’ refusal to engage in dialogue, professors will take stronger measures, including blocking institutions.
In an interview with N1, he stated that after seven months of striking without any agreement reached, the faculty has no choice but to launch a formal strike and increase pressure through street protests.
Tošković added that a meeting is planned for Monday to organize the blockades and called on citizens for understanding regarding any disruptions caused by the protests.
“We have been on strike for seven months. There is no willingness (from the authorities) to negotiate, and after all this time, we no longer know what else to do. We are now trying to initiate an official and formal strike and to increase pressure in the streets.”
“We will gather on Monday and block the functioning of institutions. We regret that we are blocking intersections and the daily lives of citizens for a long time. But we have to start blocking institutions. As they increase pressure, so will we,” said Tošković, as reported by N1.
