Prosecution Closes Case Against Hashim Thaçi for Second Trial

The Specialized Chambers have announced changes to the deadlines in the second case against Hashim Thaçi and others, related to allegations of interference in the administration of justice.

According to the announcement, defense motions to dismiss the charges must be filed by 23 March, while the Specialist Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) has only two days to respond. The judge will also have two days to rule on these motions.

Opening statements for the defense are scheduled to begin on 7 April 2026, with defense witnesses to be heard until 24 April. On 13 March 2026, the SPO submitted a notice of closure of its case.
