The Special Prosecution of Kosovo has requested pre-trial detention for Aco Dejanovic, who is suspected of committing the criminal offense of “war crimes against the civilian population” during the Kosovo War.

According to the prosecution, on March 9, 1999, in the village of Ivajë and surrounding areas of Kaçanik, the suspect—alongside other members of Serbian forces—allegedly detained around 400 Albanian civilians and brutally beat and tortured 13 of them, causing severe physical and psychological injuries.

During a search of Dejanovic’s residence, authorities reportedly seized weapons, ammunition, police uniforms, and period communication equipment.
