The October 6 protest in Novi Sad has concluded, and traffic has returned to normal shortly after 8:00 PM.

Earlier, around 6:00 PM, citizens’ groups in Novi Sad blocked the intersection of Bulevar Oslobođenja and Bulevar Cara Lazara, as part of a demonstration titled “October 6: A Day of Change, Not Missed Opportunities”, reported N1.

The blockade was planned to last two hours, with traffic police securing the area.

In their call to action, the organizers stated:

“We choose freedom. We gather to raise our voices against injustice. We gather to sign petitions, but also to show that we are not afraid, that we remember, and that we believe in change.”

The protest also aimed to collect signatures for the release of detained students and political prisoners:

“They were imprisoned for daring to speak out—and we are here to show that they are not alone. On the day when some tried to silence the voice of freedom, we let it speak again, even louder,” said the citizens’ groups.
