At Lake Ujman, the Orthodox Epiphany was celebrated with the traditional Cross Diving event.

During the activity, over 300 Serbian citizens jumped into the icy waters of the lake despite low temperatures, attempting to retrieve the cross, marking a record number of participants.

The event drew a large crowd of participants and spectators. However, provocative symbols were observed, including state flags of the Russian Federation. Additionally, T-shirts featuring faces of the Banjë terrorist group were seen.

The Serbian Orthodox Church issued a public statement clarifying that, for safety reasons and due to weather conditions, it did not assume responsibility for organizing the event, although it was held according to the tradition of previous years.

Kosovo Police officials were present during the celebration, monitoring the situation and ensuring public order and safety throughout the event.

The Cross Diving at Lake Ujman has been organized annually since 2011 and involves a symbolic swim of 33 meters from the shore, representing the years of Jesus Christ’s life.

According to tradition, the participant who reaches the cross first is rewarded by taking it as a symbol of faith and the Epiphany celebration.
