A provocative graffiti with the inscription in Serbian Cyrillic “Kad se vojska na Kosovo vrati” (“When the army returns to Kosovo”) was discovered last night on the main street of Kolašin, Montenegro.
The act has been widely perceived as an open provocation against Albanians living in Montenegro, as well as visitors from Albanian-inhabited regions who frequently visit this popular mountain tourist destination.
This is not the first time such nationalist slogans have surfaced. Similar graffiti has previously been spotted in Serbia and Bosnia, often used as a tool of political and ethnic provocation.
In addition, supporters of the Serbian football club Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) displayed a banner with the same slogan during a friendly match against Fiorentina, which sparked widespread public criticism.
