Prishtina’s public transport is facing a serious disruption as the company Qendra sh.p.k announced the temporary suspension of its Line 3A service, citing ongoing financial difficulties. The affected route runs from Vranjvci to Matiqan via the city and Muharrem Fejza.
In a Facebook statement, the company explained that the suspension was not voluntary but forced by seven months of unpaid services.
“All passengers of Line 3A: Kodra e Trimave – Muharrem Fejza – Matiqan – Zllatar are informed that the temporary suspension of operations is due to the current financial situation, not by choice. Our services for this period have not been compensated,” the announcement reads.
The company detailed that the unpaid obligations have pushed it to the brink of financial collapse, as it carries significant liabilities, including fuel supplies, technical maintenance, staff salaries, loans, rent, and other operational costs.
Qendra sh.p.k called on the Prishtina Municipality, the Government, and the Ministry of Finance to urgently address the budgetary issues, warning that a halt in public transport would paralyze the city and severely impact thousands of citizens who rely on these services.
Meanwhile, the Association of Private Transporters in Prishtina has indicated that other private bus lines may also be suspended starting Monday.
The ongoing problems stem from the Prishtina Municipality’s failure to approve the 2025 budget, leaving local transport providers without timely payments and threatening the continuity of essential public services.
