Russian President Vladimir Putin held separate phone conversations on Friday with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressing the escalating conflict between their nations.
According to Reuters, Putin conveyed to the Iranian president that Moscow condemns Israel’s actions against Tehran. To the Israeli prime minister, he emphasized that issues surrounding Iran’s nuclear program can only be resolved through diplomacy.
A statement from the Kremlin affirmed that Putin told Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian that Russia “condemns Israel’s actions undertaken in violation of the UN Charter,” and offered condolences for those killed.
