Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have condemned Israel’s military action against Iran, labeling it an “act of force” and demanding an immediate cessation of hostilities. This was announced by the Kremlin on Monday following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.

“Both sides expressed the most serious concern about the ongoing escalation of the conflict between Iran and Israel, which has already caused a large number of casualties and poses a risk of long-term consequences for the entire region,” the official statement read.

Putin and Erdogan emphasized that outstanding issues, including those related to the Iranian nuclear program, must be resolved solely through political and diplomatic means.

According to the Kremlin, the two leaders agreed to remain in close cooperation regarding developments in the region.
