Speaking to Russian and Chinese media in Beijing, Vladimir Putin was asked if he is willing to meet with Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky.
He responded affirmatively, stating that a meeting is possible as long as it is “well-prepared”—a phrase often used by Kremlin officials in recent weeks, likely intended to delay negotiations.
“I have never refused to do this, if it leads to positive results,” he said.
“And, by the way, Donald asked me if it was possible and said it could be done. I said, let him come to Moscow,” Putin reportedly added.
When asked by a small group of journalists whether the war in Ukraine is nearing its end, Vladimir Putin told reporters in Beijing that he sees “light at the end of the tunnel.”
“I believe that, if there is sound logic, it is possible to agree on an option or an acceptable way to end this conflict,” he said.
“We also see that the current U.S. administration has the will and desire to find this solution.”
“I think there is light at the end of the tunnel. We will see. Otherwise, we will have to achieve all our objectives by military means.”
