Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed confidence that Russia will emerge victorious from the war in Ukraine. His remarks came during a video call with the wife of a Russian soldier at the front.
“I wish success and victory to your husband and all his comrades. I am sure this will happen,” Putin stated during an event for youth centers in Russia.
Civilian Casualties in Odesa
Meanwhile, Russian attacks in Ukraine have again resulted in civilian casualties. At least two people were killed and 14 others wounded after a Russian drone crashed onto a residential building in the port city of Odesa, according to Ukrainian authorities.
Regional Governor Oleh Kiper confirmed that “three children are among the injured, one of them in critical condition.” The attack occurred overnight and caused significant material damage in the area.
Russia has intensified its aerial assaults on Ukrainian cities in recent weeks, at a time when international efforts for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict have failed to yield concrete results.
