Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree mandating that all military uniforms and clothing for the Russian Armed Forces must be produced exclusively in Russia starting from 2026, state news agency TASS reported.
The measure aims to eliminate the purchase of foreign-made clothing and equipment, as well as the use of foreign materials in production. According to the decree, from January 1, 2026, the Armed Forces must be supplied only by Russian companies whose production facilities are located within Russia. From 2027, this requirement will extend to fabrics and textiles, which must also be manufactured domestically.
The decree comes into effect immediately.
Personal military property covered under this order includes uniform items, insignia, underwear, bedding, special clothing, footwear, equipment, and sanitary and household goods.
