Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he will not attend the Ukraine-Russia peace talks scheduled to begin tomorrow in Istanbul.

Instead, Putin’s aide, Vladimir Medinski, will lead the Russian delegation, as he did during the 2022 negotiations in Istanbul, reports Tanjug.

Also included in the Russian team are:

  • Mikhail Galuzin, Deputy Foreign Minister
  • Igor Kostyukov, Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff
  • Alexander Fomin, Deputy Defense Minister

These officials will represent the Russian side in the high-stakes negotiations with Ukraine, as reported by TASS.
